The wisdom of those words makes the video worth WATCHING, I think. The rest is not ALL THAT INTERESTING Here you are:

I hope you find it valuable!

RULER OF MY HEART LYRICS

Ruler of my heart
Robber of my soul
Where can you be?
I wait patiently

My heart cries out
Pain inside
Where can you be?
I wait patiently

When you're alone
Going gets rough
Come back, come back, come back baby
I've had enough

Make me a queen
Happy again
Hear my cry
And ease my pain

--- instrumental break ---

When you're alone
Come back, come back, come back baby
I've had enough

Make me a queen
Happy again
Hear me cry

--- Humming to the end ---

Comments:

This talentous singer, Norah Jones is one of the Ravi Shankar's daughters.
Ravi Shankar is the most famous indian sitar player!
He teached to George Harrison (from The Beatles) to play the sitar! Then George Harrison composed the famous song "My sweet Lord" due his influence.
Other Ravi Shankar's daughter is Anoushka Shankar, who plays the sitar with a proof feeling  confering that a particulary mistic rythm. She is as well a composer. I recommend to hear at least a bit clicking on the link (is fascinating, amazing, very impresive and so sweet ... ahhh).

Returning to the Norah Jones' song and its lyrics, for you can understand better the meaning of some words and know more about those stars' bio, you can click on the underlined and coloured links. I hope you enjoy and learn more with this stuff that I have made with real pleasure.

Warm greetings to everyone, dear mates!

TECHNOLOGY AND EDUCATION

how important is technology in education
So how important is technology in education?
In the past, learning and education simply meant face-to-face lectures, reading books or printed handouts, taking notes and completing assignments generally in the form of answering questions or writing essays. In short; education, learning and teaching were considered impossible without a teacher, books and chalkboards. Today, education and training have taken on a whole new meaning. Computers are an essential part of every classroom and teachers are using DVDs, CD-ROMs and videos to show students how things work and operate. Students can interact with the subject matters through the use of such web based tools and CD-ROMs. Moreover, each student can progress at his/her own pace.
How important is technology in education?
The role of technology in the field of education is four-fold: it is included as a part of the curriculum, as an instructional delivery system, as a means of aiding instructions and also as a tool to enhance the entire learning process. Thanks to technology; education has gone from passive and reactive to interactive and aggressive.
Education is essential in corporate and academic settings. In the former, education or training is used to help workers do things differently than they did before. In the latter; education is geared towards creating curiosity in the minds of students. In either case, the use of technology can help students understand and retain concepts better.
Factors that help students learn better
Research has shown, time and again, that students learn best when they are engaged. Through the use of technology, students can become active participants as opposed to passive ones where they simply receive instructions or information. Trust is another factor that enhances the learning ability of students. With the help of technology, teachers can establish credibility in what they are teaching. Web based tools can be used for providing demonstrations and examples that can help students establish credence in what they are learning.

Technology allows distance learning
Perhaps the greatest impact of technology in the field of learning is its ability to help several people learn simultaneously from different locations. Learners are not required to gather at a predetermined time or place in order to learn and receive instructions and information. All one needs is a computer connected to a modem (or with a CD drive); these tools can literally deliver a ‘classroom’ in the homes and offices of people.
Technology allows group Learning
There are naysayers who argue that distance learning of this sort cannot help students receive the support of traditional group-based learning. For proving this theory wrong, technology has helped provide distance learners with online communities, live chat rooms and bulletin boards. All these allow students to collaborate and communicate even though they are isolated in their own space.
Technology allows individual pacing
Multimedia tools, on-line and CD-ROM based training have helped eliminate the need for an instructor-based lesson plans. Students who grasp concepts faster proceed and move along, without being held back by ones who need more time and help for learning. Such individual pacing is beneficial to all.
Technology helps lower training costs and increases productivity
Another benefit of using technology to reach many students in shorter time is lowering training costs. Corporate and academic Institutions can reduce their costs of delivering lessons to students on a per-student basis. Moreover, technology produces quantifiable results and allows students to put into practice this information quickly and with better results. Through the use of technology, students can considerably save time and increase their productivity. Both these points justify the higher costs of advanced technological tools.
Roadblocks in the use of technology in learning
Naturally, for education technology to have a positive impact on students, it should be designed and prepared well. Tools used for disseminating information must be developed with students in mind. There are also factors like lack of computer/technology literacy to be considered. Schools and businesses must bear in mind that education technology is simply a tool and its success depends largely on the amount of planning that goes into it. Using education technology can be a right choice as long as all such factors are considered.
Summary
When used properly, technology in the field of education can be a powerful tool that can help:
  1. engage and challenge learners
  2. provide students with practice
  3. Include demos, feedback and avenues that can help students reflect on what they have learned.
It is evident that technology has changed classroom training in myriad ways. It has also helped enhance learning experience as well as a student’s perception of what he/she can do. Over the years it became obvious for us,
how important is technology in education

HOW DOES TECHNOLOGY AFFECT OUR LIVES ESSAY

💪??

Try to complete this text by providing more information and using suitable connectors

Arnold Pacey defined technology as ‘the application of structured knowledge to real tasks by well-organized system of machines and people’.
Some people think technology does affect the society, but others think it has more negative effects. Well, I do I agree that while technology has its negative consequences, it has numerous benefits.
In this article I am going to discuss some of its benefits and its negative effects as well
One of the most advanced inventions of our time is the computer. It might as well be the greatest invention ever (next to light bulbs and telephone) and we always develop new ways to improve it. Computers affect many aspects of our day to day lives e.g. communication, medicine, entertainment, mathematics, agriculture, business and all other sciences.
However, we depend on them SO much that we become susceptible to computer hackers who are always trying to destroy all that we have created. Chat rooms have also their negative effects because of their unfiltered information e.g. pornography
As regards communication, again we may ask ourselves how technology has affected our society In terms of communication, For example cellphones have enabled us to communicate easily with people in different parts of the world. By Using cell phones you can now keep tabs with distance friends and families without necessarily travelling to where they are.
Lately and on account of the health restrictions imposed by COVID 19......................................................................................................................................................
.......................................................................................................................................................,
While there are numerous benefits of this gadget, it has its disadvantes as well,as there aresome negatives that come along with these new technologies .............................................................................................................................................................. .....................................................................................................................
Unquestonably ,with these technologies, humankind has been able to feed her increasing population even in the remotest places of the globe. These have helped in the fight against hunger and poverty.
The negative side of this however is that, with these technologies, there has been an emergence of new diseases and health problems that is attributed to the chemicals used  On .........................., technology has simplified work and has made our lives very comfortable Our coffee makers, computers, cell phones etc. are so much effective, easy and quick to use. Robots scrubbing and cleaning our homes indicates how things have been simplified. All we need to do is just press a button
..............................It is amazing how technology has advanced over the past years. Who would have ever thought that a chip would one day replace a whole line of factory workers? Well, this has improved efficiency, decreased human error and made work faster. .......................... this can also be seen as a con as it causes unemployment .......................here are several benefits of technology as well as cons. We just need to ask ourselves, are we becoming victims of potential danger and laziness due to the comforts of technology ? Do machines make our lives simpler by paying a higher price ? It is up to us to reach a conclusion ?<

IS THE POPE GREEN ?

Is the New Pope Green?

//
Pope Francis may have a green streak to complement the traditional white papal garb. The newly elected pontiff's earlier ministry in Argentina, as well as statements he has made as pope, suggest Francis considers care for the Earth to be entwined with care for the poor.
However, the pope's philosophy may need time to influence the world's 1.2 billion Catholics and may have little affect on voting in the United States.
While soon-to-be-Pope-Francis Jorge Bergoglio was serving as archbishop of Buenos Aires, Argentina, he stressed the importance of protecting the environment and did his part to reduce energy use.
For example, Bergoglio discussed the environment, along with other issues, during his weekly appearances with rabbi Abraham Skorka on channel 21 in Buenos Aires, reported Argentinian newspaper La Nacion.
In 2011, Bergoglio met with a group of 1,300 lay people and priests. Together they expressed concern over problems facing humanity including the “increasing alienation of the Earth, the problems of the environment, the deforestation, and the sale of lands with families living on them,” reported La Nacion.

How Green Are You?

In his daily life, Bergoglio practiced what he preached.
“In the archbishop's palace he used only one room for himself, with only an electric heater because he did not want the heating to be turned on when there was no staff,” Andrea Tornelli, papal biographer and Vatican correspondent for the Italian newspaper La Stampa, told Discovery News. “This could also be a sign of his humility.”
Bergoglio also preferred to ride public transportation around Buenos Aires, according to Catholic News.

Green Pope Power

Pope Francis' two predecessors made environmental stewardship part of their message to the world's 1.2 billion Catholics. For example, in 2008, Benedict XVI installed 2,7000 solar panels on the roof of the Paul VI auditorium. In 2009, Benedict wrote an encyclical letter in which he criticized the hoarding of non-renewable energy and called for developed nations to reduce energy consumption. Benedict even used an electric car at his summer residence. Benedict's green leanings led to some dubbing him as the “green pope.”
“The latest Popes, John Paul II and Benedict XVI, both made strong declarations in favor of a responsible engagement of Catholics towards protection and respect for creation,” Fr. José Ignacio Garcia of the Jesuit European Social Center told Discovery News. “If the present Pope keeps on this line of teaching, or even strengthens it, it will have a strong effect in the life of the Church...not only in the United States but in the entire Church.”
Bergoglio's choice of the papal moniker Francis suggests he may intensify the Catholic Church's attention to the environment. In the Catholic tradition, Francis of Assisi is the patron saint of animals and the environment.

ANALYSIS: New Pope: It's Francis, Not Francis I

“The Pope has explained that the name Francis was chosen first because Francis was a saint for the poor and for peace,” said Tornelli, “But it's also clear that from his very first speeches that he has a profound respect for the environment and could be another 'green' pope.”
For example, in Francis' homily during his inaugural Mass he spoke of the need to be protectors, “It means protecting all creation, the beauty of the created world, as the Book of Genesis tells us and as Saint Francis of Assisi showed us. It means respecting each of God’s creatures and respecting the environment in which we live.”
During Francis' recent meeting with diplomats from 180 countries, he drew a connection between environmental stewardship, poverty elimination and his namesake Francis of Assisi. Francis spoke of a journey towards ending mental and spiritual poverty.
“But it is a difficult journey, if we do not learn to grow in love for this world of ours,” said Francis, reported the Vatican News. “Here too, it helps me to think of the name of Francis, who teaches us profound respect for the whole of creation and the protection of our environment, which all too often, instead of using for the good, we exploit greedily, to one another’s detriment.”

ANALYSIS: Pope Francis: A Pope of Firsts?

However, even if Pope Francis were to come out as a strong advocate for action against climate change, or some other environmental and human welfare issue, it could take time for his philosophy to spread to the world's Catholics.
“We have to acknowledge that the Catholic Church is a huge organization, spread thorough the world, and living in quite different cultures and social contexts,” said Garcia. “Local communities, as individuals, need to adapt the message to their own context.”
In the United States, contrary to the fears that accompanied Irish Catholic immigration or the election of John F. Kennedy, papal preaching doesn't necessarily translate into political proclamation.
“I don't think that his position could affect Catholics' voting in the United States, any more than the other issues are affected by the Pope,” said Tornelli.

CAN A POPE CHANGE THE WORLD?

Can a Pope Change the World?

New Pope Francis I called for protecting the environment, but it remains to be seen how that might happen. David Biello reports

There are more than a billion baptized Catholics in the world who count themselves within the flock of the pope. So when a new pope talks up the environment, it might signal a real change.

In the Mass that made Francis the new pope, he called for "respecting each of God's creatures and respecting the environment in which we live."
The new pope takes his very name from a medieval saint known for his love of nature. Saint Francis of Assisi renounced an earthly fortune, founded the Franciscan order of monks and preached to birds. For Catholics, he's the patron saint of the environment.
If the Church goes green, it could have a real impact. It's both one of the largest property owners on the planet and it can marshal significant numbers of people to achieve social goals.
Of course, the greatest green action that Pope Francis could take is to embrace family planning. Empowering women to determine family size, among other things, is a big environmental boon. The new pope’s namesake called the world’s organisms our “brother and sister creatures.” We’ll see what Pope Francis does for the rest of the family.

Music: Witty lyrics-> I used to love her (Guns n Roses) What does it mean?

When you read or hear the lyrics you think the singer had killed a woman and buried her in his home's yard as in horror stories. Listen & read in the link below:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t6YC-TuSeQc

This witty song with lyrics was composed by Slash, one of the band members.
It's about his dog (a bitch). She was ill and suffering a lot. So, he used to love her, but he had to kill her for piety. Then he buried her six feet under in the yard.

Here you are the lyrics:

I used to love her, but I had to kill her
I used to love her, but I had to kill her
I had to put her
Six feet under
And I can still hear her complain

I used to love her, but I had to kill her
I used to love her, but I had to kill her
I knew I miss her
So I had to keep her
She's buried right in my back yard

I used to love her, but I had to kill her
I used to love her, but I had to kill her
She bitched so much
She drove me nuts
And now I'm happier this way

I used to love her, but I had to kill her
I used to love her, but I had to kill her
I had to put her
Six feet under
And I can still hear her complain

AMERICA S GUN DIVIDE

America's gun divide

A valuable and sobering piece of research by the Washington Post on March 24th put some hard numbers behind the reality that everyone in the gun debate knows but finds hard to discuss. Rural and urban Americans, as well as blacks and whites, might as well live in different countries when it comes to their exposure to gun violence. After crunching the data, the Post found the following death rates per million people per year: gun homicides with black victims—151 per million, gun homicides with white victims—15 per million. When the 50 states are examined one by one, the disparities are even more stark: rates of fewer than ten gun homicides per million whites are recorded in Idaho, Wyoming and Utah. In Missouri, the research found a gun homicide rate of 308 per million blacks.
That helps explain polling that finds 78% of blacks supporting stricter gun controls, as opposed to 48% of whites.
These disparities are worth bearing in mind when examining the latest opinion polls which show support for gun control falling sharply in specific groups after a brief post-Newtown peak. CNN's analysis notes:
"Opinion on gun control was fairly steady over the past few years, but seemed to spike after the Connecticut shootings," CNN Polling Director Keating Holland said.... "In the immediate aftermath of the shootings in Connecticut, the number of rural Americans who supported major gun restrictions rose to 49% but now that support has dropped 22 points," Holland said. "Support for stricter gun laws dropped 16 points among Americans over 50 years old in that same time."
One way of describing post-Newtown opinion is that a shocking event briefly closed the divide between Americans who live with high rates of gun homicide and those who do not. But now the gap has re-opened. Tellingly, a minimum-ambition alternative offering on gun control being crafted by Senator Charles Grassley, a Republican from Iowa, will reportedly focus on tougher federal controls on criminals who smuggle guns to other criminals (ie, a form of gun control seen as aimed at urban gangs, far from Iowa), and tougher school security (addressing a form of rare gun violence that inspires disproportionate fear nationwide).
So should rural or white Americans care about gun murders? Yes, if they care about their fellow Americans. But if that is not enough, the recent number crunching has brought more precision to another bleak reality. If whites in rural Wyoming do not kill each other with guns very much, they kill themselves at horrible rates. The Post's analysis found gun suicide rates of 162 per million whites in Wyoming, and found that overall suicides are more common in states with high levels of gun ownership.
Nationally, the gun suicide rate is 75 per million whites per year in America, and 27 per million blacks, according to the Post's numbers.
A caveat. Suicide is a complex problem, and deserves more analysis than can be fitted into a single blog post. Suicide rates are affected by everything from demographics to economics, culture and mental-health-care provisions. But there is a lot of research to indicate that death rates are affected by the availability of methods of suicide that leave no chance for second thoughts (eg, by calling an ambulance after taking an overdose).
A final note. Even looking only at white and rural Americans, these are still high rates of gun death.
Gun-rights advocates are often angered by comparisons with Britain, a country in which handguns and semi-automatic weapons are essentially impossible to own privately, since a spate of mass shootings in the 1990s. A cottage industry has grown up explaining that America's many thousands of gun homicides a year include a few hundred cases of justifiable homicide, and that some noisy British television presenters working in America have understated British gun murder rates.
It is also important to note that democratic deference must be paid to the overwhelming majority of Americans who broadly support the right to bear arms privately. America is America, and its history and culture must be respected in any discussion of gun control.
But here are some numbers, for comparison, that do support an observation that this reporter has made before: the form of gun control that works involves no guns, even if that is not the sort of gun control that will ever be agreed in America.
Fatal injuries involving firearms offences in England and Wales in 2011: 42. Homicides in England and Wales involving firearms in 2011: 39. Suicides involving firearms in England and Wales in 2011: 90.
The population of England and Wales in 2011 was about 56.1m. That gives the following rates: firearm crime fatalities—0.75 per million; gun homicides—0.7 per million; gun suicide rates—1.6 per million.
Or put another way, residents of England and Wales have a gun homicide rate 21 times lower than that among white Americans, and 215 times lower than that among black Americans, and a gun suicide rate 47 times lower than that among white Americans.
Other forms of murder and suicide do not make up the difference. The overall American homicide rate in 2008 was 54 per million inhabitants per year. The overall homicide rate in England and Wales in 2011 was 9.6 per million. The overall suicide rate in America in 2009 was 117 per million. The overall suicide rate in England and Wales in 2011 was 87 per million.

Penn & Teller on Family Values and the Concept of Family throughout the ages by Agustin Perez Villafañe

Warning: The following videos is mean for an adult or mature audience, as it contains strong language and it was not mean for children or otherwise sensitive people to watch it.

I chose to publish this video on the blog as it proposes the idea of 'Family' as something different than the modern western conception of it and discusses the concept of a family throughout the ages and periods of history. The show interviews and contrasts advocates of both traditional and alternative family lifestyles. Also, it's quite funny.

FRIENDS AND FRIENdSHIP by B. DENTON

Friends and Friendship by Dr. Bill Denton

Print This Article   Send it to a Friend

^A friend in need is a friend indeed^
  ( Proverb)
You can always tell a real friend: when you’ve made a fool of yourself, he doesn’t feel you’ve done a permanent job. (Laurence J. Peter)
A lot of people go through life with only a few friends. It seems that some have less than that. They have no one on whom they can call in good times or bad. There is no one with whom to bounce ideas around, or to talk about deep and troubling subjects. They have no one to call in times of need or difficulty. They are at the mercy of life, standing alone.     Others seem to have a multitude of friends. Wherever they go, people know them, and like to be around them. Should trouble strike, their biggest hesitation might be over which friend to call. They know exactly the person with whom to discuss the topics of inquiry and debate. Life is full of entertaining and invigorating relationships because it is full of friends.     There ought to be a course in school on friendship. Of course, some people are perfectly happy to operate with fewer friends. They might rather have a few deep and loyal friends, than many superficial ones. Others thrive best when friends are everywhere and numerous. It is not so much the number of friends that is important as is the possession of friends, period.
Friendship is a blessing...
Friendship is a blessing, and a friend is the channel through whom great emotional, spiritual, and sometimes even physical blessings flow. Friends can cheer us when we’re sorrowful or depressed. Friends can challenge us when we allow ourselves to get beyond our reasonable boundaries. Friends can motivate us when we’re ready to give in, and they can provide for us when life falls apart. They are there when all is well, and we want someone with whom to share life’s pleasant and memorable moments. We often just want them around to have a good time, to laugh, to act silly, to enjoy some mutually liked activity. In how many ways have friends enriched our lives and made us feel loved, accepted, respected and cared for? Probably, too many to list, and the list grows daily.     It is safe to say that when God created the world and all the majestic things in it, when he streaked the heavens with radiant color and the earth with grand mountains and awe-inspiring canyons, when he painted the plains with waving grasses and erected noble forests of towering trees, he outdid it all by creating friends. Why not take a moment or two and thank someone today for being a friend to you?     May God bless you with all the friends you need, and may he turn you into a blessing by using you as a friend to others.
